1, Air source heat pumps take air from the outside to heat a liquid refrigerant.
2, The pump compresses the liquid to increase it temperature using electricity. This then condenses back into a liquid to release the stored heat.
3. The heat is then sent to radiators and more heat is stored in a hot water cylinder.
4. The stored hot water is used for showers and taps.
